It is hard to believe who much she has grown since her first day last year. You can see those pics at the end of the blog. She is looking more and more like a little girl and already is so not a baby anymore in her personality and actions. She is going to her 2 year old class with an amazing vocabulary, able to carry on a conversation with complete sentences and potty trained (still wearing pull ups to sleep though). I can't wait to see what she will learn! Here are a few facts on her class this year and on the first day:
Teachers: Ms. Norma and Ms. Lisa
Class: 2's though there are a couple of really young 3's
First Day Lunch: Ham and mustard sandwich on wheat, halved grapes, black bean quinoa, and smashed berries (like apple sauce in a pouch but berries)
First Day Activities: Dancing, Drawing, Playing with Ms. Norma's baby dolls.
I picked Eleanor up at 5:30 and boy was she ready to see me! She had a great day according to her teachers which I am so glad to hear because I missed her so much and she was on my mind all day as I wished I could be with her!
Like I did last year, I wanted to make something special for her teachers, who are always so wonderful! I was inspired by a teacher's survival kit I found on none other than PINTEREST - my go to for everything it seems these days!
In the survival kit I included:
- a Teacher's prayer card
- The Serenity Prayer card (which I learned is longer than I initially knew it to be)
- Hand sanitizer
- Bath and Body Works yummy smelling lotion (the mini size)
- Colgate Wisp Portable Toothbrushes
- Little mini tooth flossers
- Breath Mints
- Mini Lint roller
- Burts Bees Chapstick
- Probably the most important thing - chocolate with toffee and almonds YUM!
- Travel Sized Advil
- Emergen-C
- a few packs of individual water bottle portions of "propel" powder
- a granola bar
- a package of popcorn
I put it all in a little $1.99 box I found at Target with handles that keep the lid on, printed off some card stock with a little sign that said - "Teacher's Survival Kit" and the prayer cards, tied it with tulle ribbon and it was done! I unfortunately completely forgot to take a pic of the finished box! AGH!
Here is my little girl this time last year - she is so big now :( Where has my little baby gone!?
